Loh Wei brings a rare combination of personal experience, professional expertise, and a deeply compassionate approach to his mindfulness training. His journey into mindfulness began as a way to navigate the immense pressures of managing a demanding business while caring for a loved one with cancer. This life-changing experience led him to dedicate his career to sharing the transformative power of mindfulness with individuals and organisations.
A Chartered Accountant of Singapore (CA) and CFA charterholder, Loh Wei’s professional background spans roles as a Big 4 auditor, entrepreneur who built and sold his own accounting firm, and Finance Director for a registered charity. These roles have given him firsthand insights into the challenges faced by high-performing individuals in demanding environments. To qualify as a Mindfuness-based Stress Reduction teacher, Loh Wei went through 18 months of rigorous training with the University of California San Diego, including teacher training, practicum, and one-on-one mentorship with experienced mindfulness teachers. For over eight years, he has applied his expertise to diverse communities, from former inmates and individuals living with HIV to corporate professionals, non-profits, and educational teams.
Loh Wei’s training philosophy is centred on creating a supportive, inclusive space where participants feel safe to explore mindfulness practices and develop sustainable self-care routines. He tailors his teachings to meet individual needs, recognising that every journey is unique. His trauma-sensitive approach draws from his experience in over 14 silent meditation retreats, enabling him to guide participants with empathy and care, particularly those who may have experienced trauma or high levels of stress.
Believing that mindfulness is most effective when it’s interactive and experiential, Loh Wei incorporates guided meditations, reflective journaling, and experiential exercises that deepen understanding and foster active participation. He also emphasises the interconnectedness of the mind and body, helping participants cultivate awareness of their physical sensations and how they relate to emotional and mental states. By guiding practices such as body scans, mindful breathing, and mindful movement, he enables participants to build resilience and achieve balance in both their professional and personal lives.
In addition to group workshops, Loh Wei offers one-on-one mindfulness coaching to high-stress professionals and leaders, equipping them with practical tools to enhance performance, improve focus, and prevent burnout.
